Tumbleweed

Happiness and love and discotheques
None of these our science detects
But this is what the state of the art reflects:
Life on Earth has lasting effects

The living dead are all aware
They’re rolling like a tumbleweed
Even my last breath of air
Is rolling like a tumbleweed

Every time I didn’t care
Rolling like a tumbleweed
Every night I wasn’t there
Rolling like a tumbleweed

And when you die, your memory
A ghostly tumbleweed
Scatters what you meant to me
Long after you cease to be

The only way to leave no trace
Is to never be born in the first place

The living dead are all aware
They’re rolling like a tumbleweed
Even my last breath of air
Is rolling like a tumbleweed

Every time I didn’t care
Rolling like a tumbleweed
Every night I wasn’t there
Rolling like a tumbleweed
